Friends Aldridge honored at Braselton library

The Georgia Public Library Service honored Dan A. Aldridge, Jr., as its “Public Library Champion of the Year” Sunday at the Braselton Library.

 Officials presented Aldridge with the annual award, lauding his leadership and example as a multi-term president of the Friends of the Braselton-West Jackson Library and his advocacy of library volunteers throughout Georgia.

 Julie Walker of the GPLS commended Aldridge for his assisting numerous friends’ groups organizing and strengthening their advocacy roles.  The award represents his tireless work raising the profile of public libraries and improved services as well as his dedication which inspired many to excellent service in their own communities.  Braselton Councilwoman Becky Richardson presented a proclamation from the Mayor and Council.

 Many friends of the Braselton-West Jackson Library attended the reception to honor Aldridge.
