One of our more exciting recreational sites is the Mulberry RiverWalk along the Mulberry River north of Interstate 85.

parks-recreation-2The Town has identified the Mulberry River and its banks as a portion of Braselton that the Town believes should be protected and preserved. To further this purpose, the Town has acquired over 200 acres along the river.

The Town has constructed a walking path with perennial gardens, footbridges and picnic areas along the river for all the public to enjoy. Please note that this is a naturalized trail and not paved. No chemicals or non-natural materials are used in the trail so that the Mulberry River is protected as should be for a drinking water supply.

The spot where all four of Braselton’s counties (Barrow, Gwinnett, Hall and Jackson) come together is on the trail and denoted by a monument and a small rest stop along the river.

The public parking lot is located at 940 Liberty Church Road. Phase II of the RiverWalk will be a more challenging trail.

If you are interested in the River Walk, please contact We are always seeking volunteers for planting, design guidance and ongoing maintenance of this project which we believe will help to protect the Town’s most important natural resource. Clean ups are typically hosted 2 times a year, but we are always in need of individuals to spot issues year round and bring them to our attention.
