Braselton Town Council

The Braselton Town Council meets in voting session on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Braselton Police & Municipal Court Building.

They discuss the items on which they will vote in a Work Session the Thursday before the second Monday at 4 p.m. in the Braselton Police & Municipal Court Building.




Mayor Bill Orr
TERM: January 2014 - December 2017

A Hall County native, Bill Orr graduated from Johnson High School and the University of Georgia where he earned a bachelor of business administration degree. He later earned an MSIA/MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. For 25+ years, he has worked in energy industries with Conoco, Exxon, Ferrellgas, Southern Company and KeySpan. As well, he has played a significant role developing 101 Mobility of North Georgia, Atlanta, and Augusta as well as Panoz LLC here in Braselton. Bill is currently employed with Sterling Planet Investments as President and Managing Director. He, his wife and two children are active in the community through his service as Mayor, local businesses, and volunteer activities.
 

 


District 1 :
Becky Richardson
TERM: January 2016 - December 2019

Becky Richardson was elected to the Town Council in November, 2015, and took office in January, 2016. Since finishing school, she has been employed with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company where she has managed medical billing for over thirty years. Becky and her husband, Ralph, are well established lifelong residents of Braselton. She is excited for the opportunity to serve on the Town Council, and one of her many goals is to serve her community by strengthening the links between town residents and the government that serves them.


District 2 :
Peggy B. Slappey
TERM: January 2014 - December 2017

Peggy Slappey is a Broker and Owner of Peggy Slappey Properties, Inc. She is a third generation REALTOR with over 38 years of experience in the real estate industry. Peggy has served on the Braselton town council since 2010. Peggy has built a culture of service into her life and organization. She and her staff and affiliates have raised over $1 million for the Christian City Home for Children, a ministry for abused and abandoned children in Georgia. She and devoted husband Tommy have been married and partners in business for many years. They have 2 sons who are married and they have 4 “grandgirls”.



District 3 :
Tony Funari
TERM: January 2016 - December 2019

Tony Funari was elected to the Town Council in 2008. He and his wife, Teresa, have lived in Braselton for 23 years. He is President of Funari Realty, a member of and past President of Braselton Rotary, serves on the Board of NEGA Heath System Foundation and chairman of the Braselton hospital campaign. He was the first Honorary Chairman of the Braselton/Hoschton Relay for Life. They have one son Adam who lives in Hawaii. Having served on the town's Zoning Board of Appeals prior to his election to the Council, Tony's special focus in serving is on managing growth, protecting the environment and maintaining the quality of life for all citizens. He cites "no city taxes, clean air and location" as the best things about living in Braselton. The Florida native enjoys golf and boating.


District 4 :
Rhonda Stites
TERM: January 2014- December 2017

Rhonda K. Stites was elected to the Town Council in November, 2013. The Michigan native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University. She and her husband, John, have two daughters. She is employed by Google.
