Braselton Town Council

The Braselton Town Council meets in voting session on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Braselton Police & Municipal Court Building.

They discuss the items on which they will vote in a Work Session the Thursday before the second Monday at 4 p.m. in the Braselton Police & Municipal Court Building.




Mayor Bill Orr
TERM: January 2014 - December 2017

A Hall County native, Bill Orr graduated from Johnson High School and the University of Georgia where he earned a bachelor of business administration degree. He later earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. For 25 years, he worked in energy industries with Conoco, Exxon, Ferrellgas, Southern Company and KeySpan. He is the Chief Operating Officer of Panoz LLC, headquartered in Braselton, which manufactures performance automobiles of the acclaimed Panoz heritage design and introduces race-proven Panoz automobiles for the first time for sale. He, his wife and two children are active in the community through his service as Mayor, the children’s schools and volunteer activities.
 

 


District 1 :
Richard Mayberry
TERM: January 2012 - December 2015

Mr. Mayberry is a lifelong resident of the Braselton area, moving within the Town limits in 1997. He and his wife, Karen, have two sons and a daughter. He attended the Jackson County School System and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Finance.
 
He served on the Braselton Zoning Board of Appeals from 2002-2005. Mr. Mayberry also served on the Braselton Historic Preservation Advisory and the Braselton Land Use Advisory Committees. He's an active officer with the Braselton Vineyard Homeowners Association.


District 2 :
Peggy B. Slappey
TERM: January 2014 - December 2017

Peggy B. Slappey - owner/broker Peggy Slappey Properties, Inc; Family - husband (Tommy), two sons and three grandchildren; past president - Northwest Atlanta Metro Association of Realtors.



District 3 :
Tony Funari
TERM: January 2012 - December 2015

Tony Funari was elected to the Town Council in 2008. He and his wife have lived in Braselton for fifteen years. They have one son and daughter-in-law who live in Hawaii. Having served on the town's Zoning Board of Appeals prior to his election to the Council, Tony's special focus in serving is on managing growth, protecting the environment and maintaining the quality of life for all citizens. He cites "no city taxes, clean air and location" as the best things about living in Braselton. The Florida native enjoys golf and boating.


District 4 :
Rhonda Stites
TERM: January 2014- December 2017

Rhonda K. Stites was elected to the Town Council in November, 2013. The Michigan native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University. She and her husband, John, have two daughters. She is employed by Google.
