Town Manager and Clerk:
Jennifer Dees
Jennifer Dees has worked for the Town of Braselton since September 1997. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Huntingdon College, A Masters of Science in Justice and Public Safety from Auburn University at Montgomery and a Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law.
Ms. Dees is a certified Town Clerk in the State of Georgia and a 2003 graduate of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government’s Management Development Program as well as a former certified Municipal Court Judge.
As Town Manager and Clerk for Braselton, Ms. Dees has over thirteen (13) years experience in local government management as well as experience in the management of development projects.
Ms. Dees oversees all services provided by the Town, including Police, Courts, Elections, Finance, Planning and Development, Roads, Water and Sewerage, Libraries, Economic Development and Parks and Recreation. Ms. Dees facilitates Service Delivery Strategy meetings and updates; Sales tax negotiations and grant proposals and administration. She supervises all local government staff and is the Point of Contact (POC) / liaison between Town Council, Town Staff, volunteers, Agency and Authority members, and MDA sub-consultants and team members for quality assurances.
Ms. Dees also coordinates and staffs the Braselton Urban Redevelopment Agency, the Braselton Downtown Development Authority, the Braselton Ethics Board; she chairs the Braselton Visitors Bureau Authority, a certified DMO that coordinates all special events and marketing efforts within the Town, and is President of the Athens Area Facilities Corporation, a non profit corporation that owns and manages the facility occupied by the Georgia Department of Labor in Athens, Georgia. She is Elections Superintendent and Voting Registrar for the Town of Braselton as well.
Ms. Dees was named Local Government Administrator of the Year by the Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center for their 12 county area in 2004.
